Janice Schoultz Mudd, Gateway Gallery: "“I wonder what will happen if…” is the thread that runs through my brain each time I encounter new problems and possibilities before me. I wonder with acrylic paint and oil pastel together with watercolor, color pencil and cut paper shapes combined or all of these and papers enhanced through experimentation. Always my mother tongue is color. I develop my paintings and collages with layers and layers of color watching them become luminous and vibrant. ' -Janice Schoultz Mudd
Janice spent her childhood in New Vernon, New Jersey and is a graduate of Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. She has exhibited her mixed-media works at The Historic Shaw Art Fair, St. Louis and the Midwest Salute to the Arts, Fairview Heights, IL. She was a participant in the 2009 Open Studios event sponsored by the Saint Louis Contemporary Art Museum.
Her work was included in the Gateway Gallery booth at the 2009 Spring Art Fair At Queeny Park."
